Shred Day 2026  Secure Your Documents, Protect Your Identity & Support Our Community

We're excited to invite you to our 2026 Shred Day on Saturday, May 23rd, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at our 4638 W Street location! This year's community service event offers a secure and confidential way to safely dispose of sensitive personal documents at no cost for LincOne members.

Whether you're protecting yourself from identity theft or simply decluttering, Shred Day is the perfect opportunity to take control of your financial security while giving back to our community.

Free Document Shredding Services

Bring your old financial statements, tax documents, credit card bills, utility bills, or any paperwork containing personal information such as your name, address, account numbers, or Social Security numbers. Professional shredding services provided by Paper Tiger Shredding will securely destroy your documents on-site, completely free of charge for LincOne members.

Document security is an essential part of protecting yourself from identity theft and fraud. By shredding sensitive papers, you're taking a proactive step toward personal financial safety.

Supporting Our Community

This year, we're proud to partner with The Lincoln Food Fort to support hunger relief in our community during Shred Day. As part of the event, we're collecting non-perishable food donations to make a meaningful impact on local families in need.

When you bring your documents to shred, please consider donating either monetarily to the Lincoln Food Fort or by donating non-perishable goods such as:

  • Canned vegetables and fruits
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans)
  • Cereal and oats
  • Pasta and rice
  • Baby formula and diapers
  • Cutlery

Together, we can protect your identity while strengthening our community. If interested, you can also donating directly on the Lincoln Food Fort's website.

4 Steps to Protect Your Identity & Even Earn Rewards

Identity theft affects millions of Americans each year, but you can take smart steps to safeguard your personal information. This Shred Day is just one part of a comprehensive approach to financial security.

1. Shred Old Documents Securely

Use a cross-cut shredder to destroy documents into small, confetti-like pieces that are nearly impossible to reassemble. Don't just toss sensitive mail. Anything with your name, address, or personal information should be shredded, including junk mail with pre-approved offers.

2. Switch to E-Statements for Safer Account Management

One of the best ways to protect your personal information is to sign up for e-statements. It's completely free through your LincOne account. E-statements eliminate the risk of financial documents being lost, stolen, or falling into the wrong hands.

Here's how e-statements protect you:

  • Your financial information is secure in your online account
  • No physical documents containing sensitive data left in your mailbox
  • Instant access to your statements anytime, anywhere
  • Environmentally friendly and paperless

Good news: Switching to e-statements is one of the key steps to qualifying for LincOne's 3%* APY locallift Rewards Checking Account, and it's completely free to enroll!

3. Meet Your Rewards Checking Requirements

LincOne's locallift Rewards Checking Account offers up to 3%* APY on balances up to $10,000 with no monthly fees. Earning these rewards requires just three simple actions:

  1.  Open a checking account with e-Statements (already taking the security step above)
  2.  Spend $100+ per month with your debit card
  3.  Receive $100+ per month in direct deposits

When you meet all three qualifications each month, you'll earn a 3%* dividend on your entire checking balance and unlock uChoose Rewards points! Earn 1 point for every $2 spent with your debit card, redeemable for cash back, gift cards, travel, and more.

4. Monitor Your Account Security

Beyond shredding and e-statements, keep your accounts secure by:

  • Using strong, unique passwords
  • Enabling mobile wallet and card control features
  • Monitoring your account regularly through LincOne's mobile app or online banking
  • Signing up for account alerts to catch suspicious activity immediately

Why E-Statements Matter for Your Financial Security

When you sign up for free e-statements through LincOne, you're taking one of the most important steps to protect your identity. Paper statements sitting in your mailbox, recycling bin, or trash are vulnerable to theft. Digital statements stored securely in your online account keep your sensitive information where only you can access it.

Plus, e-statements are a requirement for LincOne's locallift Rewards Checking Accountmeaning your security-conscious choice also helps you earn rewards while keeping your money local.
