What is Smishing?
Smishing (SMS phishing) is when scammers use text messages to impersonate trusted organizations like LincOne. The texts often include fake links or urgent messages such as "pending issues" to pressure you into acting quickly.
Always verify messages by contacting LincOne directly through our official phone number, website, or mobile apo, not through a link in a text.
Be Cautious with Embedded Links
Scammers hide malicious websites behind text or image links. On a computer, you can hover over a link to preview the real URL. On a mobile device, long-press the link to see its true destination. If it doesn't match our official website www.linconefcu.org, don't click.
Watch for other red flags such as:
- Poor spelling and grammar
- Urgent or threatening language
- Generic greetings instead of your name
Your Security Is Our Priority
We are committed to keeping your accounts safe. Please stay vigilant, and if you ever have doubts about a message, contact us directly through our official channels.
